City Overview

Shanghai is located in the Yangtze River Delta, bordered by the East China Sea to the east and Hangzhou Bay to the south. Today, it has grown into a bustling metropolis with a permanent population exceeding 16 million. In the late 1990s, the central government prioritized Shanghai's development, transforming it into a globally renowned modern city. The Huangpu River, Shanghai's largest river, divides the city into two main areas: Pudong and Puxi.
